Miami is becoming a major dining destination in the United States. For the last couple of months, major restauranteurs have opened up locations in the Magic City. Right now, Major Food Group, a New York based group is planning to open four new restaurants in Miami. The group is led by Mario Carbone, Rich Torrisi, and Jeff Zalaznick, and the new openings are part of their expansion to South Florida. In addition, one of the partners of the group recently relocated to Miami Beach from New York. Zalaznick and his wife paid $15 million for the waterfront home they were renting.
The group plans to open an Israeli concept in Miami Beach, and a French steakhouse in Brickell. In addition, the group is also planning to open two Sadelle’s restaurants. One of the Sadelle’s will open up in a 10,000 square foot development in Lincoln Road. The other one will be located in Coconut Grove. In addition to these four new restaurants in Miami by the group, they also recently opened up Carbone in Miami Beach, and ZZ’s Sushi Bar in the Miami Design District.
Furthermore, Major Food Group is not the first New York based company to expand to South Florida. In fact, many of them have expanded due to the lack of restrictions on businesses and surge of demand in the area. Another notable new restaurant opening in Miami includes Pastis, which will open in Wynwood next year.
