The trendy Forge Miami restaurant and night club is an icon of the city. It’s history begins in the 20s, when the place was a blacksmith shop, which produced fancy gates to the richest families of Miami ence the name “Forge”). In the 30s the property was transformed into a restaurant and casino. Even then The Forge was frequented by many celebrities, including Frank Sinatra and Elizabeth Taylor. Businessman Alvin Malnik, father of the current owner Shareef Malnik, bought the restaurant in the late 60s.

In 2009 the restaurant performed an expensive renovation and reopened in 2010 with impeccable, refined and pure eye candy decoration. View photos throughout this article (at the end I show more pictures – beautiful!!).

In 2014 the award-winning Chef Christopher Lee took over the kitchen at The Forge bringing with him all his experience in top US restaurants. The main dishes are steaks and seafood. As soon as you sit at the place ask the waiter for “The Fourge  Souffle”, one of the best desserts in Miami, and if you want to try it, you should ask well in advance because it takes a lot to be done.

Visiting The Forge is not only about tasting delicious cuisine, but to experience an outstanding different environment in one of the best restaurants in town. The refined and bold decoration, luxurious chandeliers and super trendy setting blend to provide an unforgettable moment.

The Forge Miami Wine Cellar

But the main attraction at The Forge Miami is not about great cuisine, great service and impeccable decoration. The restaurant is famous for its wine cellar! More than 20 thousand bottles.

In 1983, Baron Philippe Rothschild donated to The Forge’s cellar a nineteenth century wine collection. There are rumors of bottles worth nearly USD 200 thousands. The variety is so great that the wine list has more than 50 pages (for all tastes and pockets). Do you know any restaurant that offers up to 80 glass of wine selections?

Just to give you an idea of the value of the bottles, in 1992 The Forge’s cellar was damaged considerably by Hurricane Andrew and the amounts in dispute with the insurance company amounted almost USD 3 million at that time.

And The Forge makes sure to display your precious wine cellar to customers. Ask the waiter for a tour. It will be a unique experience, especially for wine lovers!

Chef Christopher Lee

The award-winning Chef Christopher Lee joined the Forge Miami in 2014 and he brought a rich gastronomic knowledge acquired in experiences in the best US restaurants. Lee was born in Queens and raised on Long Islando.

Lee graduated from The California Culinary Academy in San Francisco. And it was in this city that Lee got his first important job in the kitchen of a restaurant at The Fifth Floor Restaurant. Other renowned restaurants for which he worked: Daniel, Jean Geores and Oceana. He won twice Michelin star in 2004 and 2009.

Other tributes to Christopher Lee throughout his career include James Beard “Rising Star Chef of the Year” (2005), “Best Chef Mid-Atlantic” (2006), Food & Wine’s “Best New Chef” (2006) and in 2009 Lee was a contestant on the inaugural season of Bravo’s “Top Chef Masters”.
