VISIT FLORIDA, Florida’s official tourism marketing and advertising corporation, recently announced an agreement with the renowned Michelin Guide to offer the famous stars to the best restaurants in the Miami regions, Orlando and Tampa starting in 2022. As a result, the state of Florida will become the fifth destination in the US to have the Guide, along with New York, Washington, Chicago and California.

Michelin Guide is finally coming to Florida

“Michelin Guide inspectors look forward to discovering the world-class culinary scene in Miami, Orlando and Tampa (…) . From the excitement and glamour of Miami to Orlando’s iconic attractions and the rich culture of Tampa’s Gulf Coast, Florida’s gastronomy is unique, diverse and intriguing for locals and travelers across the globe” said Gwendal Poullennec, international director of the Michelin Guides.

“Visit Florida, along with our destination partners, Visit Orlando, Visit Tampa Bay and the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, are thrilled to partner with Michelin to develop a Michelin Guide to further establish Florida as a world-renowned culinary destination,” said Dana Young, President and CEO of Visit Florida. “This gives Florida the opportunity to highlight the dynamic and unexpected culinary adventures the Sunshine State has to offer from locally grown produce and fresh seafood to unique fusions from cultures around the world.”

The arrival of the Guide inspectors further highlights the city of Orlando on the world gastronomic scene, which is constantly evolving with its internationally renowned chefs. Orlando, which is already one of the most visited tourist destinations in the world, projects itself as a “World Class City” and offers much more than amusement parks.

Restaurant Row Orlando and the Michelin Guide

The most gastronomically famous region in the city of Orlando is called Restaurant Row, a famous district for housing a variety of restaurants, from casual to gourmet, that will make your mouth water! Restaurant Row is close to the International Drive and close to the Orange County Convention Center, between Disney and the Universal.

Certainly some Restaurant Row restaurants will receive a star from the new Michelin Guide inspectors.

Levels in the Michelin Guide range from one to three stars! Having only one Michelin star is already a great differential for the establishment. Learn more on the official website for the guide.
