Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

We are diving into another hurricane season here in South Florida. Therefore, it is important to stay informed and know how to be prepared. Recently, it was stated that a tropical storm might hit South Florida.

“Elsa” has already caused a tropical storm warning in the Florida Keys. As for South Florida, the forecast is that Elsa could bring heavy rain and gusty winds. Being prepared in case it becomes more intense is a good idea. However, as of now, South Florida residents should only expect a tropical storm. During hurricane season, a tropical storm could bring very heavy rains and storm surges of 1 to 3 feet.

Last week, Elsa was considered a Category 1 hurricane. However, it has downgraded to a tropical storm since.

To make sure you are prepared for any changes, you can track the storm. This way, you can get the necessary supplies you’ll need in case you are unable to leave when Elsa hits.
