Right now, South Florida is experiencing a huge influx of tech companies moving to the area. Therefore, the City of Miami Beach officials aim to find out if Lincoln Road could become the next hot spot for this phenomenon.
Commissioners received 18 letters of interest from developers. Therefore, the city has been seeking proposals to add office spaces near Lincoln Road mall. This is an effort to diversify the area and keep the business momentum alive in the city. The plan is to add about 400,000 square feet of office space. They would be located on three parking lots between Lincoln Road and 17th street.
If completed, this project could add a lot of traffic to the area, helping the stores and restaurants on the mall strip. This will help diversify Miami Beach’s economy, which for many years has depended on tourism and hospitality.
