Nationally, the housing market is setting a bunch of records. In fact, half of the homes that went into contact during March spent a very small period of time on the market. This is the highest percentage of fast-selling homes since 2012. In the final week f the period, around 61% of homes sold within two weeks.
In addition, 47% of sellers accepted an offer within one week of listing. This is much higher compared to last year, when the percentage was 33%. To get the homes they wanted, buyers had to act fast and most likely pay the full asking price. In fact, 41% of homes sold for more than their list price. This is because demand is very high, and supply is limited. Despite rising prices and low inventory, interest among buyers remains high.
