Bulgari’s plan to redevelop the Seagull Hotel Miami Beach is finally advancing. The redevelopment includes adding two floors to the seven story building. In addition, they also want to expand the ground floor. This week, the Miami Beach Planning Board voted to approve the changes. However, not everyone is happy about this. The Setai Miami Beach is aiming to stop this. The Seagull was completed in 1950, and has a design combination of Art Deco and Miami Modern.

In December the luxury brand announced that it would transform the Seagull Hotel Miami Beach into the first Bulgari hotel in the country. This would be done with Italian architectural firm Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel overseeing the restoration. The new hotel would open in 2024. In addition, it would have an outdoor pool, a spa, a fitness center, and more. Bulgari currently operates 10 hotels globally.

Bulgari plans to make rooms in the 178-key hotel larger by removing more than 40 of the existing rooms. In addition, they would add about 13,000 square feet at the ground floor, and add two extra stories. Wether the luxury brand gets full approval for this transformation is still a matter of waiting.
