A new Brickell boutique hotel is on the works. In fact, a 1960s Brickell Avenue landmark is getting a makeover. The Colonnade Plaza, which was designed by World Trade Center architect Minoru Yamasaki will be transformed into a beautiful boutique hotel.
The new Brickell boutique hotel will house 95 rooms and an outdoor pool. Hotel guests will enjoy a location that is walking distance to Brickell City Centre and Mary Brickell Village. Right now, less than a handful of tenants remain on the second floor of the building, and all of the other floors are undergoing renovations. The full renovation will cost about $4 million. There is a CVS pharmacy on the first floor, and will remain there despite the renovations. In addition, the developer is adding two adjacent retail spaces on the ground floor.

With Summer right around the corner, vaccine rollouts, and Miami’s irresistible weather, the city is expecting many tourists and the hotel occupancy rate to continue going up.
