Getting ready for your next trip to Orlando? How about starting preparations for your next Disney vacation? In this post we show you 7 tips on how to save in Orlando. Read on to find out.

1 – Rent a house instead of staying in a hotel

In the article Rent a house or book a hotel? What is the best accommodation in Orlando? We compared the different types of accommodation in Orlando.

If the trip is a group, whether with family or friends, renting a house ends up being cheaper, since the daily rate will be shared between several people. In addition, the house brings more freedom, space, privacy and you also save on meals, since you can buy at the supermarket and cook at the house, which is much cheaper than eating out.

2 – Avoid direct flights to Orlando

If you are not bothered with stopovers, one option that can bring great savings to your trip to Orlando is to look for flights to other cities, such as Miami and Fort Lauderdale. These routes are usually cheaper.

3 – Do not rent GPS

When renting a car, avoid renting the GPS too. This additional service is often very expensive, especially when compared to existing mobile applications, such as Waze and Google Maps. You can purchase a cell phone chip when you arrive in the United States. This way, in addition to the cheapest phone and internet services, you will have access to these applications as well. Learn more about mobile chips in the next topic.

4 – Buy a prepaid cell phone chip in Orlando

If you use your cell phone with your account chip in Brazil, the invoice amount at the end of the month will be scary! The Brazilian operators’ chips work in other countries, but the international plans of the Brazilian operators are not encouraging. Once you arrive in the United States you can buy a chip from a local operator (AT & amp; T for example). Just replace the chip in your cell phone with the new one you purchased (save the chip from your Brazilian operator because you will need it when you return to Brazil). The plans of operators in the USA are considerably cheaper and the internet signal is excellent, in addition to being an unlimited plan.

And you can even turn your phone into a portable router and use the internet on your notebook whenever you want. It’s really worth it!

Remember: You will need a lot of internet on your cell phone to use the park apps, in addition to being able to use Waze, making restaurant reservations, among other facilities.

5 – Abuse Walmart to save money in Orlando

The Walmart in Orlando is one of the cheapest department stores in the world. Many souvenirs and accessories in the parks can be purchased at Walmart at extremely cheaper prices. Looking for Disney-themed t-shirts, key chains, mugs, etc? Avoid shopping at the parks and research at Walmart first.

At Walmart you can also find super cheap raincoats to face the parks on rainy days.

6 – Save in Orlando with meals

Eating in the parks’ restaurants and cafeterias in Orlando is always more expensive. Besides the tip of souvenirs and accessories at Walmart (previous topic) you can also save a lot on your trip to Orlando by buying snacks and setting up meals to take to the parks. Go backpacking and take cereal bars, fruits, sandwiches, snacks, etc. Buy everything at Walmart or another department store of your choice.

This does not mean that you cannot enjoy the restaurants in the parks or snack bars. However, if you bring snacks and prepared meals from home, you won’t have to spend so much in restaurants.

At the end of the day, when leaving the parks back to your hotel or vacation home, order a pizza! The pizzas in Orlando are usually cheap and delicious. How about a Domino’s Pizza to end the day?

7 – Take your own water bottle to the parks

This tip could be included in the previous topic, but we consider it so important that it deserves a separate topic. This is because it is not uncommon to forget to bring your own water to the parks. Usually people remember to bring snacks, juices and soft drinks and forget that, especially on hot days, you have to drink a lot (a lot) of water!

There are drinking fountains distributed in the parks, where you can fill your bottle. In times of pandemic, these drinkers are not available. So, try to take as many bottles of water as you can, because in the park it is very expensive.

Do you travel a lot to Orlando? Are you in love with Disney?

Do you always travel to Orlando? Have you ever thought about buying a house in Mickey’s Land? Thus, in addition to saving on your stays in the city, you can also earn income in dollars for the rest of the year if you do not use the property. You must be thinking, “Buying a home can be very expensive”! The truth is that the homes in Orlando are cheap , especially those offered in launches. Most of the house’s value can be financed through American banks, at US interest rates (super low) and the loan installments can be paid off with the rent itself.

Many people who travel constantly to Florida have already purchased one or more homes in Orlando. This, of course, is the most efficient way to save on your trip to Orlando, in addition to making a solid investment in dollars.
